I'm not gonna be around here any longer. Those of you who have my email can reach me that way. I don't have the time or the patience for many of the forums and fandoms I used to be active on/with. And besides, my English grammar and punctuation is atrocious, which seems to be a matter of enormous importance to some people here, to the extent that they STILL won't READ a work of fanfiction = they'll only critique its punctuation.
And by the way, that very attitude KEPT me from writing ANYTHING but emails for something like two and a half years. Feel good about that, do you?
And if you take that comment personally, fine. I'm glad you got my point, finally. You remind me of the high school 'English' teacher I had who, instead of reading poetry with us, had her classes diagram the sentences in poems. yeah, true story.
Because I'm just a writer, just a fanfiction writer, not an English professor. I love storytelling. I feel as if I'm happiest when I can tell a story and someone 'GETS' it. Fortunately, I have found some fans who do.
So, I won't quit now that I've started again, if that disappoints you, gee, I'm sorry. But I won't even look at hair-splitting, ego-crushing critiques of my grammar and punctuation any longer. That's not editing. That's not helping. That's just stomping around on creative people's hard work for the sake of stomping and feeling superior, I guess.
I'm 66 years old. I"m a busy person for a retired old lady. And the real world needs my attention these days a whole lot more than any fandom. So I am SO outta here. Hasta la... nope, there's one of those danged ellipses again, and I won't see you.
